چکیده
Aim: In this study, we sought to investigate possible biomarkers markers that can preoperatively distinguish complicated and non-complicated acute appendicitis.
Material Method: Patients who underwent appendectomy between February December 2019 were screened retrospectively. with pathology findings other than appendicitis excluded. a confirmed diagnosis of categorized as for analysis sociodemographic characteristics, comorbidities preoperative laboratory parameters.
Results: A total 575 patients included in the study. Among these, 432 (75.1%) diagnosed 143 (24.9%) appendicitis. The mean (SD) age was 34.2±14.2 years. Hypertension, diabetes mellitus hypothyroidism most frequent comorbidities. Age (OR, 1.026; p=0.010), male gender 1.837; p=0.044), LUC (OR: 19.868; p=0.034) GGT 1.013; p=0.013) associated higher risk An increase monocyte platelet ratio (MPR) 0.920; p=0.047) lower Conclusion: appendicitis, parameters including age, gender, well LUC, MPR, which are easily available relatively cheap biomarkers, be useful cases preoperatively.

Gamma glutamyl transferase.
Serum gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) has been widely used as an index of liver dysfunction and marker of alcohol intake. The last few years have seen improvements in these areas and advances in understanding of its physiological role in counteracting oxidative stress by breaking down extracellular glutathione and making its component amino acids available to the cells. Conditions that increas...
متن کاملSerum gamma glutamyl transferase and alkaline phosphatase in acute cholecystitis.
BACKGROUND The serum level of gamma glutaryl transferase and alkaline phosphatase is raised in acute calculus cholecystitis and common bile duct stone. However, the rise in serum level of these enzymes in acute cholecystitis implies stone in the common bile duct is not well studied. Thus, it may lead to retained CBD stone on one side and unnecessary CBD exploration on the other during emergency...

Objective. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) levels, cerebrovascular risk factors, and distribution of cerebral infarct areas in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Patients and Methods. Sixty patients with AIS and 44 controls who had not cerebrovascular disease were included in the study. The patients were divided into fou...

BACKGROUND: Urinary oxalate and citrate are the keyfactors in caox urolithiasis of cats and Gamma GlutamylTransferase is a good test for assessment of kidney damage.Favorable effects of Cynodon dactylon on calcium oxalate stoneformation have recently been proved in rats. OBJECTIVES: Thepresent study was designed to investigate the alteration ofurinary oxalate, citrate, and GGT after administrat...
متن کاملRatio Of Ast / alt And Serum Gamma Glutamyl Transferase ( ggt ) Activity In Chronic Alcoholics And Acute Viral
Introduction-Gamma Glutamyl Transferase (GGT), also known as Gamma Glutamyl Transpeptidase, is a micorsomal enzyme with a wide tissue distribution. GGT is present in the cell membranes of many tissues, including the kidneys, bile duct, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, heart, brain, and seminal vesicles.[1]It is involved in the transfer of amino acids across the cellular [2] [3] membrane and leuko...
